Most office pool products are websites you send people to. Guul and Office Rivals both live inside the chat app instead, so this is the one comparison where each side is solving the problem the same way. Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. Guul integrates with Teams, Slack and Google Meet. Office Rivals runs in Slack and Google Chat only. If your company is on Teams, that single line settles the decision and nothing further on this page matters.

Breadth beyond sport.Guul's Slack surface lists puzzles, quick games such as Rock Paper Scissors, Tic Tac Toe and Connect 4, micro games, polls and quizzes. Half of any office does not follow football, and a platform with a word puzzle in it reaches them. We do not, deliberately, so Office Rivals is only ever for the people who care about the sport.

Non-sport prediction formats. Guul runs Eurovision alongside its football and Formula 1 predictors. We have no equivalent.

Platform features for a large company. Its Gamespace and Tournament Hub products advertise custom themes, SSO and API integration, custom achievements and a dedicated customer success manager on the Enterprise tier, plus white-labeled tournaments. If you are buying an engagement platform rather than an office pool, that is a larger product than ours.

Its predictor games are free. Guul states plainly that the predictor games are free, and its Gamespace free tier is listed at zero euros forever for up to ten monthly active users. Free is free.

Where Office Rivals is stronger

The NFL, including Survivor.Guul's published predictor lineup is football, Formula 1 and Eurovision. Office Rivals runs NFL Pick'em and Survivor: the full weekly slate as a private card, one unused team a week for Survivor, elimination handled automatically, and a Monday recap with the Tuesday close after Monday Night Football. For a US office, that is the season that matters.

A cross-company leaderboard.The NFL pool has an opt-in company leaderboard: your workplace can appear on a public table of how well companies call the NFL, once five coworkers are playing. It publishes company-level aggregates only, never a player, a pick or an individual score. Guul's leaderboards run inside your own workspace.

Pricing you can predict a year out. Office Rivals is free for 5 players, and one one-time season pass, from $129£99€109, covers up to 100 players for the whole season. There is no per-user charge, no per-play charge and no renewal to forget. Guul publishes a free tier, an Enterprise tier on custom billing, and a separate per-play model where you pay for completed game sessions on top of an annual platform license, with no rate card published. Whether that is better depends entirely on how many people play and how often, which is exactly the number nobody can forecast in August.

An office rhythm rather than a games hub. Office Rivals posts nothing into your channel at the weekend. The card comes to each person before kick-off, and the results are revealed on the first working morning after the round, which is when people are there to read them. The short version

Choose Guul if you are on Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, if you want games for the whole office rather than the sport-following half of it, or if you are buying an engagement platform with SSO and white-labeling attached. Choose Office Rivals if what you actually want is the office football or NFL pool, running itself all season, with nobody chasing picks and no money in it.
