Terms of Service

01What this is
Office Rivals is a football prediction game for workplaces, delivered as a chat app. It is not gambling: there are no wagers, entry fees, stakes, or monetary prizes, and nothing you predict puts money at risk. It is a workplace game for bragging rights. If prediction contests are restricted where you are, you are responsible for confirming your use is lawful before playing.
02Who can use it
Office Rivals is built for companies and organisations. By installing it you confirm you have authority to act for the workspace you are installing into.
03Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully and decently. Do not abuse the bot, disrupt the service, attempt unauthorised access, submit misleading payment or workspace information, use it to harass anyone or publish unlawful content, or resell or redistribute it.
04Intellectual property
We own Office Rivals — its code, design, branding, and content. Using the service gives your workspace a licence to use it for the season you have access to. That licence is yours alone and is not transferable or resellable.
05Passes, payments and refunds
The free plan supports up to 5 active players in one competition. Season passes are one-time payments — there is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. A pass covers the competitions and season named on it, for up to 100 active players, and expires at the end of that season. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card details.
Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase and before the first match of the earliest competition your pass covers. After that, refunds are available only where a verified technical fault on our side prevented your workspace from using the capacity you bought. To request one, email hello@officerivals.com.
06Availability
Office Rivals is provided "as is". We work to keep it running, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or perfect scoring, and there are no express or implied warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
The service depends on Slack, Google Chat, Stripe, football-data.org, and cloud infrastructure. Outages, API changes, or delayed match data from any of them can affect the game and are outside our control.
07Fair play and scoring
Match predictions lock the moment they are submitted and cannot be edited. Season picks lock at the first kickoff of the season; picks made after that do not earn points. We may correct obvious scoring or fixture-data errors, including re-scoring matches, to keep the game fair.
Where the app offers user-created side bets, those are written and resolved by the people in your workspace, carry no points, and never affect any leaderboard. We are not responsible for their content, and workspace administrators can remove them.
08Termination
We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, behave abusively, or where we must for legal or security reasons. You can stop using Office Rivals at any time by uninstalling it. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as described in clause 05.
09Limitation of liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost data, or missed opportunities — arising from your use of the service.
If something does go wrong, the most we will owe you is what your workspace actually paid us, or GBP 50, whichever is greater.
Nothing here limits liability the law says we cannot exclude, such as fraud or personal injury caused by negligence.
10Third-party services
You are responsible for complying with the terms of your Slack workspace, Google Workspace, and any other platform you use the service through. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
11No affiliation
Office Rivals is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Premier League, UEFA, FIFA, any club, or any football governing body. Club and competition names are used only to identify fixtures.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify affected workspaces at least 7 days before they take effect, unless the change is required for legal compliance or security. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the update.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be heard in the courts of England and Wales. If mandatory consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, nothing here overrides that.
14Operator and contact
Office Rivals is operated by Ioan Djambov. For questions about these terms, contact hello@officerivals.com.
